OnePlus 5 to retain headphone jack with different position, Carl Pei reveals on Twitter
Earlier leaked image allegedly showing a OnePlus 5 prototype
Such was the case on May 19, when Pei received an interesting answer to his "What should I tweet about today?" post on the social media. One of his followers replied with "About where the headphone jack [of the OnePlus 5] went", prompting the director of OnePlus Global to react with the following cryptic message:
Why did the headphone jack cross the road? https://t.co/8sSXI8zB8y

What's with all the fuss about a headphone jack? Well, the various images of the OnePlus 5 leaked until now (real or not) showed that there was no audio jack on the bottom of the device, which was its default placement with the OnePlus 3 and 3T.
This caused many fans to wonder whether the company has decided to remove it altogether, but Pei's reaction, albeit ambiguous, got the folks at GSMArena to rightly speculate that the opening might be moved to the top of the handset, much like the earlier OnePlus One and 2 models.
Okay, but how in the world can we state that this theory is correct? Because barely a few hours ago, Pei admitted that he needs to be more careful with his tweets, linking the article in his post.
Looks I gotta be more careful with my tweets... https://t.co/JSOhurrze2

As a reminder, OnePlus 5 is one of the most anticipated Android flagships for 2017, bringing killer specs and quality design for less than $500. Although we still don't have an official ETA for its announcement and release, our best estimation is that we'll see the new flagship break cover in the next few weeks.
