OnePlus 2 price confirmed to be under $450

Later this month, on July 27, OnePlus will finally announce a successor to last year's OnePlus One smartphone. The new handset will be called OnePlus 2, and we already know that it will be more expensive than the first OnePlus smartphone (which was released for prices starting at $299). However, the new smartphone will still not be as expensive as most flagships out there.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau today confirmed that the "OnePlus 2 will be priced under $450." It remains to be seen whether this means the handset will cost $449.99, or less.

It's said that the new OnePlus flagship will have a metal-made body (unlike the OnePlus One, which is a polycarbonate-made device) and a display measuring 5.5 inches, or maybe 5.7 inches. The new smartphone will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, featuring a fingerprint scanner, 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM, and possibly a dual rear camera.

Not long ago, we revealed a couple of images that allegedly showed the OnePlus 2 (see below), but we can't be sure of their authenticity just yet. OnePlus is definitely a company to watch, so we're looking forward to seeing what it can do with its upcoming smartphone. What about you?
