Honor and Huawei are the most recent smartphone companies to release Android Oreo updates for some of their products. We already reported about the
Mate 9 and
Mate 9 Pro, as well as
Honor 9 and Honor V9, getting their long-awaited updates, but now we have information about two other handsets will receive the same treatment.
It looks like Honor's CEO, George Zao, recently confirmed in an interview with a Serbian online media publication that his company is currently beta testing Android Oreo for two other smartphones:
Honor 8 and
Honor 8 Pro.
According to him, Android 8.0 Oreo will soon be available for both Honor 8 and
Honor 8 Pro, but they will not be the last smartphones the company will upgrade to the new version of the OS.
Honor 7X, the phone that was recently introduced in China and will go worldwide very soon, will also receive the update.
Zao also said that “
some other Honor smartphones” will be updated to Android Oreo, but he didn't mention any other names nor a timeline for the release. Even so, it's nice to know that another company is trying to keep up with Google's Android updates and treat its customers fairly.
