Official Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) renders surface; phone to be unveiled June 18th?
During the waning days of May, wee told you that the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) had received certification in China from TENAA. As usual with the Chinese regulatory agency, it released four images of the phone including front, back and both sides. While the images are welcome, they are not of the highest quality. That is why we are happy to have some leaked official renders of the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) to show you this morning.

You might recall that the TENAA documentation revealed two variants of the phone. The SM-J3110 has a 5-inch screen with a 720 x 1280 HD resolution, while the 5-inch display on the SM-J3119 carries a 1080 x 1920 FHD resolution. Originally obtained by Galaxy Club in the Netherlands, the renders are of the latter model.

Other specs include a quad-core 1.2GHz CPU with 2GB of RAM inside. An 8MP camera is found on the back of the unit, and the 5MP front-facing snapper is used to shoot selfies and handle video chats. A 2600mAh battery keeps the gerbil spinning on the wheel, and Android 5.1.1 is pre-installed. Yup, there is no Marshmallow out of the box for the Galaxy J3 (2017).

The phone is expected to be clad in metal, although the removable rear cover and the lack of antenna lines indicates otherwise. Galaxy Club believes that the phone could be unveiled under a different name, and we should know more about that on June 18th. That is when the handset is expected to be unveiled in China.
