Nokia updates HERE Maps
Nokia has rolled out a rather large update for HERE Maps, available from the Windows Phone Store. The update adds new features to LiveSight. For those unfamiliar with LiveSight, it is a feature that uses Augmented Reality in conjunction with HERE Maps to tell you more about your surroundings by using virtual signs.
The update adds the ability to pause the scene and browse on the screen without having to hold up your handset. At first, you will have to do a 360 degree circle turn in order to capture all of the information. But after that initial spin, you can simply look down at your phone to see what is around you. Another useful new feature from the update allows you to pin LiveSight to your start screen which brings you just a tap away from knowing all of the places of interest nearby.

For those who use public transit, HERE Maps will now allow you to tap on public transit stations to see what lines pass through that station. Tap on one of the places of interest on your phone and get quick directions to that location regardless if you're driving, walking or taking the bus. The new update will already be included on the version of HERE Maps available on the upcoming Nokia Lumia 1020. We should also inform those with the entry level Nokia Lumia 520 that the LiveSight fature is not available on that model.
