Nokia outs beta version of Ovi Maps 3.4
Not soon after the formal release of Ovi Maps 3.3 was made ready, Nokia has released a beta version of Ovi Maps 3.4 that offers some new improvements. At its core, the new version is claimed to be quicker and more accurate when it comes to narrowing down your exact GPS location. It seems apparent that Nokia has made some strides in this area, but it's difficult to gather its actual performance at this time. Additionally Nokia throws in Wi-Fi positioning as part of its many ways of figuring out your location, but it will take some time until Nokia's servers are able to obtain enough data for this to be considered useful. Its official changelog features improved positioning speed & accuracy, map zooming with faster speed, and improved search for cities with zoom out to city level. Even though it's been made available for download, compatibility is still limited to a handful of S60 3rd Edition FP2 and 5th Edition phones. If you happen to fall into this select group of handset, go ahead and test out some of the new features on the beta version of Nokia's Ovi Maps 3.4
