Nokia Steel HR is officially here. Be one of the first to experience our new heart rate and activity tracking watch. By pre-ordering today, your watch will ship early December, just in time for the holidays: https://t.co/bgH5ox0JWD#NokiaSteelHRpic.twitter.com/XvOizP14CJ
In case you're not familiar with the Steel HR, it's essentially a mix between a smartwatch and an analog one. It comes with a heart rate monitor, and the small digital screen provides useful information such as notification alerts and data from the various activity and sleep tracking functionalities. It also features a battery life of up to 25 days (even more in certain modes), which is quite a lot, especially when compared to standard smartwatches like the Apple Watch and the various Android Wear 2.0 devices on the market.
Nokia might be advertising the Steel HR as a "new" product, this isn't exactly the case. French health and fitness technology company Withings actually announced the Steel HR at IFA in September of 2016 and began selling it after getting acquired by Nokia in June of that year.
However, there are some slight changes on board the Nokia-branded timepiece. HMD says that it has opted for sapphire glass on the heart rate monitor in order to guarantee water protection of up to 50 meters. Also, there are software improvements on board, such as an enhanced heart rate algorithm that provides more accurate tracking.
The Steel HR is available in two case sizes - 36 and 40mm. The former costs $179.95, while the latter is priced at $199.95. The color options for the dial are black and white. Nokia says that quantities are limited, but those who pre-order now can receive their purchase in early December. For more information on the Steel HR, feel free to check out the source link below.
