Earlier Sunday, as we
reported, Nokia had mistakenly posted a promo of the E72 on YouTube. After removing the video, the Finnish manufacturer officially announced the device at its Connection 09 event in Singapore, along with the 5530 XpressMusic. As we noted from the video, the E72 is equipped with a 5MP camera and a 3.5 mm audio jack. An optical navigation pad adorns the handset which features lightening quick 10.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity. Access to Ovi is included as is Nokia Messaging and a digital compass. The unit is expected out in the third quarter at an unlocked price of 350 Euros (about $489 U.S. Dollars).
The 5530 XpressMusic will not offer 3G connectivity although it will be equipped with Wi-Fi. While not as high-end as the 5800, this device comes with a 3.2MP camera with LED flash, 3.5 mm audio jack, and a touchscreen display offering resolution of 640x360. Also expected in the third quarter, the price tag will read 199 Euros (about $278 U.S. Dollars) off contract.
