Nokia launches massive firmware update for N79
0
In what is possibly the largest update in recent history, the Nokia N79's first firmware update takes the device from version 10.046 to 11.049, and with it comes a 4,000+ word changelog that we can't even begin to dissect for this article. Realizing that a phone's primary purpose is, well, to make phone calls - we searched for anything specifically related to reception or general usage and found 34 fixes (such as calls occasionally disconnecting after 20 minutes; quite the problem in our book). With a release of this nature, it does beg the question: with all of these updates found in the new firmware, was the initial release ready to begin with?

The download can be performed via NSU, or OTA by pressing *#0000# from the main screen. If you're up for a long read, brew a pot of coffee and check out the documented changes below.
