Nokia launches Treasure Tag app for Lumia phones, required accessory not yet available
Nokia today released a new application for its Lumia Windows Phone 8 handsets, but for now you can’t properly use it. Called Nokia Treasure Tag, the app will work with an accessory of the same name that hasn’t been launched yet.
The Treasure Tag accessory is a small plastic device that can be connected to a Lumia device via Bluetooth Smart. You can attach it to your keys or “other favorite belongings” - this helping you find them in case you misplace of lose them. The location of the Tag will be tracked via the dedicated app, which features visual and audio guidelines, and even augmented reality (on LiveSight-compatible phones).
According to Nokia, the Treasure Tag accessory and app will work only with Lumia handsets that run the latest Black software update.
Most probably, Nokia will launch the Treasure Tag accessory at MWC 2014 later this month. There is no word on how much the tiny device will cost, but let’s hope it’s not going to be too expensive.
