It is Sunday which in the U.S. is the traditional day for the newspapers to offer a large-sized, color version of the funny pages. Considering that Nokia has recently invaded everything with its #Switch campaign, it is no surprise that the Finnish OEM has someone drawing a "#Switch Comic Strip." We haven't seen the use of the word in an advertising campaign since the old days when Tareyton cigarettes launched their "I'd rather fight than switch" ads. Of course, that was before home computers, few television programs were in color, and when you were talking about a company called Apple, you were talking about the Beatles.
The Nokia comic is titled "Don't let cables tie you down" and shows a poor generic phone trying to free itself from a wall outlet while the Nokia Lumia 920 is lying on a wireless charging pad, getting powered up while a party is taking place. Don't forget that AT&T recently extended its offer of a free charging pad to buyers of the Nokia Lumia 920 from the carrier. Originally set to expire on January 10th, the deal now continues through February 21st.
