Nokia announces the 2730 classic, the 2720 fold and the 7020
Nokia has just announced three new budget-oriented phones. The new handsets should provide Internet access and lot of information to customers on the emerging markets. Starting with the 2730 classic, we should probably say it’s a nice decision by Nokia to incorporate 3G connectivity here. This one is a candybar, coming with Nokia Life Tools in select markets, which provides information that may be important to local customers, such as whether forecasts, prices, etc. The 2730 classic comes at a price of about EUR 80 before taxes and subsidies. We should expect the 2730 classic to come out in Q3 2009.

The second handset, introduced by the Finnish manufacturer is the 2720 fold, which, as the name implies, has a discrete clamshell form-factor. It runs on the Series 40 interface and also comes with Ovi Mail and Nokia Life Tools (in select markets). It is also scheduled for a Q3 launch, at a price of EUR 55, before taxes and subsidies.

Finally, we have the Nokia 7020, which is being promoted as a trendy phone. Well, we are not quite convinced about this one. However, the 7020 features an accelerometer and an external screen that brings your latest information when you double tap it. A 2-megapixel camera and fast access to social networks are also on board. You will be able to get the Nokia 7020 sometime in Q4 at a price of EUR 90 before taxes and subsidies.
