Nokia N8's camera software gets a major update in the form of a Nokia Beta Labs app
Nokia's camera guru Damian Dinning promised that the work to make the most out of the huge camera sensor in the Nokia N8 will never cease, and today he delivered. The camera team issued a separate app today, which can be downloaded as a .sis file from Nokia Beta Labs.
Bear in mind that, after you install the app, you sometimes have to reboot the handset to see the new interface and functionalities, at least we had to in the office.
The customized Symbian Anna firmware update for the Nokia N8, which started rolling last week, brought continuous autofocus and 30fps HD video capture, among other improvements. Now what this additional app that was released today brings, besides the nice new interface with easily accessible shooting modes, is smooth video capture while panning, and a close-up video mode, which now works from about 4" (10 cm) distance.
