Nokia Lumia 920 takes on iPhone 5 again, this time in video image stabilization
Yet again, we see the Lumia 920 face off against the leading competition with its amazing camera. This time, it is a comparison of the image stabilization when recording video against the iPhone 5.
Using a precision machined foam holster held together with tape, the gang at Engadget took the two devices for a walk to compare the quality of the image stabilization. After hitting record on the devices, they walked and ran across the parking lot in front of the Nokia R&D facility in Tampere, Finland.
As you can see from the video below, the Lumia 920’s optical image stabilization outperforms the iPhone 5’s digital compensation pretty handily. It should be noted that the Nokia being used was a prototype device. However, we have seen similar comparisons made against the Samsung Galaxy S III, and the performance shined there as well.
The next month or so of waiting is going to be a serious test of our patience, especially if we are afforded the opportunity to observe this continuous flow of tid-bits of what is to come.
