The FCC label on what is believed to be the Nokia Lumia 822 for Verizon
We've told you about the
Nokia Lumia 822 which is a Windows Phone 8 model expected to be available
exclusively from Verizon. We've
passed along pictures of the device and have seen the specs leak, and it obviously is a version of the Nokia Lumia 820 for Verizon. The latest word on the device is that it has apparently visited the FCC. While the handset that met with the Feds didn't have any markings on it indicating the exact model name, the device did have support for Big Red's CDMA and LTE bands and a sticker on the phone showed that the unit was the Nokia RM-845, for what it's worth.
While not the high-end model that the Verizon faithful were hoping for, there is quad-band HSPA 3G for world roaming and the device is NFC enabled. Most of the measurements and specs match up with the Nokia Lumia 820 from the 4.3 inch WVGA screen with a pixel density of 217ppi, to the dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 processor and the 32GB microSD slot.
The Nokia Lumia 822 is a press release away from becoming official, and with
Windows Phone 8 phones expected to be on the market early next month, the word from Verizon should be coming sooner than later. Will it be able to compete at Verizon with the
Motorola DROID RAZR HD, the
Samsung Galaxy S III or the
Apple iPhone 5?
