No eclair in sight with the latest update for the Motorola BACKFLIP - just bug fixes
One of the biggest obstacles to overcome the nagging fragmentation problem we've seen with Android is the fact that there are still a host of handsets running Android 1.5 and 1.6. Motorola BACKFLIP owners are included in this mix and we're sure that they're sitting still as they wait for the day when good news comes in the form of an Eclair update. In the mean time, AT&T has just released a software update for the unique looking Motorola BACKFLIP which include some improvements and bug fixes. Even though it may not be Android 2.1 in the flesh, there is a decent amount of things either improved or corrected to tide over some owners. Some of the improvements can be found in text messaging, the display, network connection, performance of Android Market apps, battery life, Bluetooth, streaming audio, video playback, and an overall improved stability. Additionally, it corrects some problems seen with the camera randomly quitting the application when it's in use. Handset owners should start seeing the OTA process notification pop up on their handsets, but it would probably be wise to download it via Wi-Fi if you're getting close to that monthly data cap.
