Niantic celebrates the Equinox with major Pokemon GO in-game event
The US company behind Pokemon GO smash hit has just announced it will kick off a new in-game event in celebration of the Equinox. The new event is supposed to run from 1:00 PM PDT on September 22 to 1:00 PM PDT on October 2 and will allow players to earn double Stardust for catching Pokemon and hatching Eggs.
Additionally, during the in-game event, players will be offered the opportunity to collect special 2 km Eggs that have a chance to hatch Pokemon like Chansey, Mareep, Larvitar, and others. You can collect the reward while visiting local PokeStops and Gyms.
But there's more. Niantic announced that Pokemon GO players will be able to get special boxes from the in-game shop that will pack items like Lucky Eggs, Lure Modules, and new Super Incubators which hatch Eggs 1.5 times quicker.
Last but not least, whenever you register a new Pokemon to your Pokedex during the in-game event, you will gain triple the normal XP. That will make battling Legendary Pokemon originally from the Johto region during the event totally worth it.
