Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P could start shipping on October 25th, pre-orders live at Google Store
A promotion being run by Google to entice consumers into pre-ordering the Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P, is actually hinting at an October 25th shipping date for both stock Android phones. Those who order either Nexus device from the Google Store by October 25th, will receive a $50 Google Play credit once the phone ships. Since this appears to be an incentive for consumers to pre-order either handset, it would certainly make sense for the end of the promotion to coincide with the initial shipping date for the phones.

The Google Store has started accepting pre-orders for both handsets. The Nexus 5X, built by LG (its third Nexus handset after the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5) is available in Carbon, Quartz and Ice. The 16GB model is $379, while the 32GB unit will cost you $429. Nexus Protect insurance is available for $69. The phone will leave the warehouse in three to four weeks, which dovetails with the October 25th rumored shipping date.

The Nexus 6P, produced by Huawei (making its debut as a Nexus manufacturer) is available in Aluminum and Graphite. The 32GB model is $499, the 64GB version is $549, while the 128GB option is $649. While the Google Store has the 32GB Nexus 6P leaving the warehouse in four to five weeks, and the other two models leaving in five to six weeks, it all does seem to tie in to Google's original announcement that the phones would launch "later in October." The Nexus Protect plan for this model is $89.
