Newegg has the unlocked LG G5 on sale for $259.99
The conditions of the deal/s may have changed since the initial publishing of this post.
It might not be a current generation model, but you can pick up the unlocked LG G5 from Newegg for only $259.99. Interestingly, this model is powered by the Snapdragon 820 chipset while the LG G6 has the Snapdragon 821 SoC inside. That means that there is only a slight difference between the chipset that powers both phones. In addition, because the LG G5 works with some modular accessories, the 2800mAh battery can be removed and exchanged for a freshly charged one.
For those who need to refresh their memory in relation to this phone, it features a 5.3-inch LCD display with a 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution. 4GB of RAM is inside along with 32GB of native storage. Those seeking additional storage can access the 256GB capacity microSD slot. There is a dual-camera setup on back of the handset. A 16MP snapper features an aperture of f/1.8, while an 8MP sensor carries an aperture of f/2.4. The selfie snapping front-facing camera weighs in at 8MP.

If it really isn't important to you to own the latest and greatest flagship model, this would appear to be a good deal for the price. And because LG's modular platform didn't catch on, you probably will be able to find the accessories for the phone at a very good price.
