New teaser suggests OnePlus 5 will be unveiled June 20th (UPDATE)
Teaser hints at June 20th unveiling for the OnePlus 5
A new teaser discovered on weibo indicates that the eagerly awaited OnePlus 5 will be unveiled on June 20th. A previous weibo image called for a June 15th launch, so perhaps the best bet is to wait for an official announcement from OnePlus. The latest image does look a little more professional than the previous one, but neither teaser can be traced back to OnePlus outside of the OnePlus logo found on both leaks. Others on weibo call for an announcement to take place later this month, perhaps on June 29th.
The OnePlus 5 is expected to carry a 5.5-inch display with the Snapdragon 835 chipset powering the latest flagship killer. That means the OnePlus 5 will contain an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 540 GPU. 6GB/8GB of RAM is expected to be on board along with 64GB/128GB of native storage. A dual-camera set up featuring a pair of 16MP cameras is said to be on back, along with a 16MP front-facing selfie camera. Keeping the lights on is a 3300mAh battery, and Android Nougat is pre-installed.
OnePlus CEO Peter Lau has already tweeted about the dimensions of the handset, stating that it will be the thinnest flagship model available. And this past weekend, we showed you some camera samples that suggest one of the rear cameras will shoot in monochrome. Now, we find out that a June 20th unveiling could be in the wind. At this point, we'd suggest that you use a pencil to circle the date on your calendar, because you might have to use the eraser end of the writing instrument.
