Even though Google recently announced that it has decided to acquire HTC's mobile division, taking over around 2,000 of its engineers, the Taiwanese company didn't actually sell its smartphone brand to the search giant.

Rumor has it, HTC plans to launch one more flagship smartphone by the end of this year, the so-called HTC U11 Plus. A previous rumor suggested the flagship could be unveiled as early as November, but now we have more info that comes in line with that report.

Industry sources claim the new smartphone will be an upgraded variant of the current HTC U11 flagship. The report even confirms the name the company will use for the said device: HTC U11 Plus.

The U11 Plus is expected to come equipped with a powered Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, a 12-megapixel rear camera, a secondary 8-megapixel selfie snapper, as well as either 64GB or 128GB internal memory.

The phone's 5.99-inch display with Quad HD resolution will complete the phone's high-end specs. It's yet unclear whether or not the HTC U11 Plus will come with Android 8.0 Oreo on board, so that remains to be confirmed.
