New mid-ranger from TCL to sport eye scanner, 5-inch FHD display and Snapdragon 615 SoC for $129
Looks like 2015 might become known as the year of the eye scanner. We've seen the Vivo X5 Pro come to market with an iris scanner, and now an image shows another similarly endowed phone. The TCL 3S was spotted on a Weibo site and sports an eye scanner. It also features a 5-inch screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. That works out to a pixel density of 443ppi.

The TCL 3S is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 615 SoC and includes 2GB of RAM with 16GB of native storage. A 13MP camera (with an aperture of f/2.2) adorns the back of the phone while an 8MP snapper graces the front of the unit. The handset does feature 4G LTE connectivity.

The phone is priced at the equivalent of $129 USD, and will be available for purchase starting on June 4th. You will be able to pick up the TCL 3S in black or white. There is no word yet on whether this model will be offered outside of China.

Thanks for the tip!
