A published report cites a source in China for a leaked photograph of a unknown HTC handset. The thin, red colored phone is believed to be a mid-range HTC Desire model, which could be launched in the March-April time period. The device purportedly carries a 5 inch screen, and will be powered by a Snapdragon processor. Speculation calls for a price in the neighborhood of 2000 yuan ($330 USD).
HTC Chairwoman Cher Wang has called the third quarter a trough for her company and says that 2014 will be a comeback year for HTC. Considering that HTC has previously said that its problems were with the mid to low end of the market, this new model might play an important part in the manufacturer's recovery.
It is possible that this is the recently leaked D310w model that was recently certified in Indonesia and is expected to be released in China as the HTC V1. This is tipped as a low end device with just 512MB of RAM on board.
