New images of purported working Galaxy S8 with colorful screen protectors pop up
The Galaxy S8 and S8+ leaks keep on coming fast and furious, Seoul Drift edition, and and it is entirely normal, as we are nearing the official announcement during Samsung's Unpacked event planned for March 29th. This waterfall of depictions consists mainly of dummy units given to carriers or screen protector makers to train reps or test their wares, but every now and then a live, working machine wiggles its way into the news stream.
What you see below is purportedly the Galaxy S8 with the now-familiar home, back and menu keys in the navigational strip the bottom of the screen, an always-on display set depicting the time/date and battery percentage, as well as the power-off screen. Some of these are pretty familiar to folks from previous leaks, or from the Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.
What we are a bit miffed about, though, is the fact that the phones have colorful fronts in blue, silver and white, whereas @evleaks posted the fronts of the Black Sky, Orchid Grey and Arctic Silver versions yesterday, and they were all black. Given that most Galaxy S8 leaks this season have come from screen protector makers, however, it is entirely possible that what we are seeing here is an S8 machine covered with an extra layer of tempered glass that may have been painted by the accessory maker in various colors to match the rear panel, for those who might want their looks uniform all around. There are similar screen protectors on the market now for the S7 edge, even though that one is uniformly colored front and back.
