New image of drool worthy Gionee Elife E8 is revealed; rear camera offers lossless zoom
Just yesterday, we showed you an image of the beastly Gionee Elife E8, dressed up in gold. With a rear-facing camera that can stitch together a 100MP image, a dedicated shutter button and a true octa-core 2GHz MediaTek MT6795 CPU under the hood, the Gionee Elife E8 is a handset that can get you drooling in no time. While we don't have a firm idea of how big the AMOLED display is, there is some talk that it might be 4.6-inches. If so, the 1440 x 2560 resolution will give the screen an amazing 639ppi pixel density.
And today, a new image of the Gionee Elife E8 surfaced, showing off the 23MP rear camera that allows photos to be interpolated to 100MP. The same image also allows us to see the fingerprint scanner on the model, the microphone and speaker grill, and the two-tone LED flash. The rear camera is also offering lossless zoom. What is lossless zoom you ask? Last year we told you all about the feature, which was offered on both the Nokia Lumia 1020 and the Sony Xperia Z1. It means that when the camera zooms into a scene, there is a very small drop-off in the quality of the image.

The Gionee Elife E8 not only is memorialized in a new photograph showing the back of the phone, it also stars in an interesting teaser showing the handset with an image of the New York skyline (with the Statue of Liberty in the background). If we had to take a guess, we'd say that the teaser is telling us that the phone could be coming to the U.S. Still no word when we might see the handset officially unveiled.
