New firmware for HTC Hero makes device faster
HTC is now officially offering a firmware upgrade for the HTC Hero. The Android powered device has had some issues concerning speed-the lack of it, actually, and complaints about the device lagging have been noted since the launch of the handset. When we reviewed the Hero, we commented that our major gripe with the phone was that it was lagging when opening certain applications. This release should eliminate the delays and the new build has been given great reviews by those who have seen it in action. The Taiwanese based manufacturer has chosen its Danish web site to be one of the first to offer the upgraded version, 2.73.405.5, which has yet to hit every country. Even the UK is among those shut out as this is being written. With Sprint expected to launch the Hero in the U.S. on October 11th as we have previously reported, there should be enough time to make sure that the phone being sold in the States already incorporates the latest OS build.
