New cards for Google Now on Tap allow users to quickly have Google handle everyday tasks, and find certain places while on the road
An update to Google Now on Tap is beginning to make its way to Android powered handsets running the Marshmallow build of the operating system. If you use Google Now to handle common everyday tasks, you'll find new cards containing shortcuts that can be tapped on to quickly handle these daily chores. Things like setting an alarm, navigating to work/home, starting a timer and requesting a reminder are now no more than a finger tap away.
Additionally, while on the road a second new card will allow you to tap other shortcuts that will quickly have Google search for nearby restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, bars and cafes. You might even be able to measure what kind of evening you're having by seeing how many of these icons you tap on in one night.
The new cards might not be revolutionary, and most of you already know how to get Google Now to set an alarm, give you turn-by-turn directions back home or help you find a gas station wherever you are. But you could save some time by using the new cards, and all of these seconds do add up at the end of a long, tiring day.
