New ad for Apple iPhone 5 focuses on the camera
Apple does know that the iPhone is a phone and not a camera, right? In the latest ad for the Apple iPhone 5 that is beginning to hit the television airwaves, we see the handset used as a camera over and over and over again. In fact, if we were the type that loves to make puns, we would say that this new commercial, (ahem) focuses on the handset's 8MP camera.
There is nothing spoken throughout most of the ad until the very end, and the actual construction of the sentence makes us wonder if the guys at Cupertino know exactly what the Apple iPhone is. After 54 seconds of just hearing background music, the voice over announcer says, "Every day, more photos are taken with the iPhone than any other camera." See where we italicized the sentence? Technically, Apple is calling the handset a camera. To which we would argue that the device is still first and foremost a phone.
