New Samsung Gear S3 update addresses battery life issue

One month has passed since Samsung's Gear S3 received the Tizen 3.0 update. The major software upgrade introduced a number of new features, but its rollout wasn't exactly problem-free. Many owners of the wearable have encountered various problems after updating, the most severe of them being related to poor battery life.

If you have experienced a similar issue, we have good news for you. Samsung has released a new patch that promises to increase the time between charges. The only thing mentioned in the changelog of this 21MB patch is "improved battery usage time". Currently, the update is only available to Canadian users, but we suspect that a global rollout will occur in the following days.

If you want to download the update, head to the Samsung Gear phone app. Once inside, go to the About Gear menu under Settings. Also, feel free to let us know if you notice any differences after installing the patch.
