New Samsung Gear Fit 2 pics show off next-gen wearable ahead of launch
As Samsung matures as a wearables manufacturer, the company's been slowing down its hectic release pace of just a few years ago. And while we got the original Gear Fit activity tracker all the way back in the spring of 2014, last year came and went without a follow-up. Now it's been looking like it's nearly time for Samsung to give the band a proper sequel, and for the last few weeks we've been tracking leaks of a new Gear Fit 2 – some stemming from premature publication on Samsung's own website. We're still waiting for official release details, but until that day comes we've got at least one new set of Gear Fit 2 pics to help tide us over.
Past Gear Fit 2 leaks have been a mix of hands-on pics and professionally sourced renders, with this new set falling clearly into the latter category. Our source doesn't divulge just where these came from, but they sure look like part of Samsung's own marketing materials.
The new Gear Fit 2 again shows off an ergonomically smoothed-out design, while images like the map display we see here appear to confirm reports that this new model is expanding upon the feature set of the first by picking up its own GPS receiver.

Recent rumors have suggested that Samsung could introduce the Gear Fit 2 as soon as sometime next month, but we've yet to narrow down that release window to a specific date.
