New Moto teaser reveals that the Moto Z2 Force will be unveiled on July 25th
Exactly one week ago today, we showed you an invitation that Motorola sent out for a July 25th event. While no phones were named, we mentioned the Moto Z2 Force and the Moto X4 as two models that could be unveiled by Motorola later this month. As it turns out, a teaser posted by Motorola today tells us in no uncertain terms that at least one of the models being announced will be the Moto Z2 Force.

The new teaser shows a couple of phones, both with shattered screens. Broken glass is all over the background and the tag line reads, "get ready to shatter your expectations." That is actually a big clue since it hints that this new handset will have a shattershield display. The only phone among Moto's 2016 handsets that features the screen guaranteed to survive drops of 5-feet or less is the Moto Z Force. And the 2017 version of that phone is the Moto Z2 Force.

We've already seen images of the device with AT&T branding, and T-Mobile says that it will offering the phone to its subscribers. Verizon will no doubt get a CDMA version of the handset. It will be equipped with a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen carrying a 1440 x 2560 (QHD) display. Under the hood will be the Snapdragon 835 SoC with an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 540 GPU. 4GB of RAM will be inside along with 64GB of native storage.

A dual-camera setup will be on back. Two 12MP snappers will adorn the rear of the handset, and the front-facing selfie-snapper will weigh in at 5MP. A 3500mAh battery keeps the lights on, and the front-facing fingerprint scanner is now embedded in an oblong shaped button. Of course, July 25th could arrive with a bunch of different specs on board the unit.

While we can't be 100% certain about the specs until they are officially unveiled, we can feel pretty certain that Motorola's witty statement about shattering expectations pretty much guarantees that the Moto Z2 Force will become official on July 25th. Keep checking in for the latest rumors, leaks and news pertaining to the phone. And set your alarm for July 25th at 11am EDT. That is when the #hellomotoworld event is set to kick off.
