New HTC U11 update featuring support for Bluetooth 5.0 and 60 fps video recording rolling out now

Good news for customers who purchased the HTC U11, as the Taiwanese handset maker has just announced a new update is now available for download. The update is supposed to bring a few new features that weren't available in the HTC U11 at launch, such as improved video recording and connectivity features.

If you don't remember, we reported last month that HTC U11 could get support for Bluetooth 5.0 in a future update. Earlier this week, news about HTC enabling 60 FPS video recording (1080p) for the U11 emerged as well.

Today, HTC Taiwan confirmed that a new firmware is now being pushed to HTC U11 devices. The official changelog mentions HTC U11 users will be able to record videos in 1080p resolution and 60 fps.

In addition, the smartphone will get Bluetooth 5.0 compatibility, thus expect your HTC U11 to feature longer connectivity range, lower power usage, and higher transmission bandwidth.

Even though HTC promised to bring even more Squeeze Gestures to the HTC U11, this update doesn't contain any, so don't go looking for them just yet. Finally, the update adds a new security patch (probably August) and some stability improvements.
