New HP Wireless stores offer free Palm Pre and Palm Pixi; free accessoiries, too
What better way to celebrate the opening of the HP Wireless store than by helping the company get rid of some unwanted inventory for free. If you are an AT&T or Verizon customer, HP is giving away a free Palm Pre Plus or Palm Pixi Plus and wait...there's more. Along with the handset, HP will toss in a car charger, a mini-bluetooth headset and a leather case for another $100 worth of goodies on the house. And FedEx shipping is also free. The only thing that will cost you some money is the 2 year contract that you will need to sign for either carrier. And while you get a webOS handset and some accessories without opening your wallet, HP gets to write off some of that inventory they recently picked up when they acquired Palm. Of course, HP will most likely write down their remaining stock of the Pre and Pixi down to zero. It would be a smart move because they can take the hit now which will exaggerate the upside later. The ad says that this is for a limited time only, and with no precise dates to give you, if you have any interest in the offer, we would suggest you not procrastinate.
