New Google Search experience is being rolled out to the iPad & Android 3.1+ tablets
Just because some tablet platforms retain most of the fundamental characteristics of their smartphone platform counterparts, it doesn’t always mean that the smartphone experience will upscale and work smoothly in the tablet medium. Well, for anyone who owns a tablet and constantly relies on Google Search, they know all too well that the experience might not adhere to all of the unique aspects of tablets.
Thankfully, Google is rolling out an updated Google Search experience that actually enhances the tablet experience – albeit, it’s only going to be made available on the iPad and Android 3.1+ tablets. Essentially, one can expect to find a simplified layout with search results and a new button that allows you to quickly choose the kind of results you want to populate – such as being able to switch between Shopping, Videos, Places, and Images.
With the latter, they’ve actually improved the results page seeing that enlarged previews of images are now available. Furthermore, we also will find continuous scroll and faster thumbnail loading with Google Image searches.
Currently, the new experience is being rolled out over the course of the next few days – meaning, it’ll just magically appear at any point, so don’t be shocked with the unexpected transformation.
