New Apple iPhone models will be waterproof according to rumored specs
A company that sells luxury items online, Goldgenie, has apparently posted rumored specs for the Apple iPhone 7 and Apple iPhone 7 Plus. Apple is reportedly set to unveil the new models on September 7th with pre-orders to begin two days afterward. The pair could be released on September 23rd based on an internal AT&T memo showing upcoming merchandising reset hours.
According to the Goldgenie site, the Apple iPhone 7 will feature a 4.7-inch screen with a resolution of 750 x 1334. Under the hood is the Apple A10 chipset. 2GB of RAM is inside with 16GB/64GB/128GB of native storage. A 12MP camera is on back carrying an f/2.2 aperture, and a 5MP Face Time camera is in front. The device is said to be waterproof and carries a larger capacity 1960mAh battery. The iPhone 7 weighs in at 7.1mm thick.
We would definitely view this with a cynical eye, and take this story with one or more grains of salt.
Thanks for the tip!
The Apple iPhone 7 Plus will offer a 5.5-inch screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution screen. Other differences compared to the iPhone 7 include OIS on the dual 12MP rear cameras (at least on one of the snappers), the inclusion of 3GB of RAM, and the availability of 32GB/128GB/256GB of native storage. This model measures 6.1mm thin according to the specs, which would shave 1.2mm off of the Apple iPhone 6s Plus. That certainly seems unrealistic. Unfortunately, the battery specs are not listed for the iPhone 7 Plus.
