Motorola to lay off 77 in Florida facility
There have been rumors that Motorola was looking to fully convert over to the Android platform in place of Windows Mobile for their smart phone selection. No official word from the once powerhouse company about these rumors. But 77 employees in its Plantation, Florida facility will be layed off effective March 27. The company said that it will no longer carry out new Windows Mobile development at the facility. Is this just a peek at what kind of relationship Motorola will have with Microsoft? Or will their new liaison with Google prove to be a hit in the upcoming months? Time will only tell if these changes prove to be beneficial.
