Motorola invests in Fuel Cell Developer
Motorola has announced that Motorola Ventures (its equity investment branch) is investing in Tekion, Inc a North American company, which is working on a micro fuel cell power source for mobile devices. The new product, called Formira Power Pack , is a small unit that combines a Formira fuel cell and conventional lithium-ion rechargeable battery. The fuel cell will provide the energy required to recharge the battery and the battery itself will provide the power. The Formira Power Pack, which will enable users to have more reliable and extended power supply than the current fuel cell solutions, is expected to be launched by the year 2007.
