The Motorola XOOM 2 ME positioned as a holiday gift
Over in the U.K., Carphone Warehouse is giving tech fans there visions of sugarplums and tablets under the tree for this coming Christmas. An ad for the retailer shows off the
Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition as a special gift to give this Xmas. A sequel to the original gen Motorola XOOM (natch!), the tablet is priced at 400EUR which translates into $545USD. While no launch date was disclosed, the tone of the ad suggests a release before or during the holiday season.
So what are the specs on this tablet that Santa will be shlepping with him on his global trek? For starters, this variant of the Motorola XOOM 2 will have an
8.2 inch HD-IPS screen which
makes it the smaller Media Edition model MZ609 as opposed to the MZ617 model of the XOOM 2 which sports a 10.1 inch display. A dual-core 1.2GHz processor is under the hood while 1GB of RAM is aboard. The 5MP camera on the tablet features AF and video capture while 16GB of native storage comes out of the box. With a chassis built with aluminum and magnesium, the Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition offers 4G LTE connectivity, just the thing for Santa as he uses the tablet to navigate his way from home to home.
