Motorola is likely to enter the smart speakers market with a brand new device that's expected to be announced very soon. The new Moto AI smart speaker will compete directly with the likes of Amazon Echo and Google Home even though Motorola plans to introduce the new device in China initially.
Press images and promotional materials of a device called Motorola Smart AI assistant speaker have been recently uncovered in China thanks to the folks over at AndroidPure. The market name of the device is still unknown, but its design and many of the functions are shown in these pictures.
Apparently, the smart speaker will be launched in China in partnership with Baidu. Among the many voice commands that the Smart AI assistant is supposed to respond to, the promotional images list the following: “What's Today's news” and “Help me set a reminder or start a countdown for 5 minutes.”
Also, the smart speaker can answer many other questions like “What festival is today,” as well as provide users information about whether stock quotes and news updates. It's also supposed to improve its algorithm by learning from user interaction.
The device comes with a Kids mode which it enables automatically every time it interacts with children. Hardware-wise, Motorola smart speaker will pack an ARM Cortex 53 processor, along with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support.
