Motorola kicks off Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play Android 9 Pie roll-out
There were plenty of signs in the last few months that Motorola plans to upgrade its mid-range Moto G6 lineup to Android 9 Pie, but, as always, it took longer than we expected. Although the Moto G6 Plus has already received the update, the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play users had to wait more than a month for Android 9 Pie.
As AndroidPit (translated) points out, even if Motorola Brazil announced earlier this week that the Android 9 Pie update is now rolling out OTA (over the air) to the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play devices, the company warns owners of these smartphones that the distribution happens gradually.
Along with all the new features and improvements included in Android 9 Pie, the update also adds the December security patch, a bit old if you ask us. You'll notice that design-wise, the update brings subtle changes to the icons and menus, but there's nothing really major to mention.

If you don't see that update showing up on your Moto G6 or Moto G6 Play right away, give it a few days since the update is rolled out in waves and is not yet available in all countries.
