Motorola DROID MAXX 2 is updated by Verizon to Android 6.0
The Verizon exclusive (in the states) Motorola DROID MAXX 2 can now be updated to Android 6.0. The update includes Google Now On Tap, which provides you with contextual search results based on what is on your screen at the time that the search request is being made. Another feature, Doze, puts your inactive Android phone into a deep sleep. Apps that run in the background are shut down, and overall battery life is improved. Permission for apps to use certain features of the phone can be approved on a feature-by-feature basis.

App Standby allows DROID MAXX 2 users to have their rarely used apps put into a reduced activity state, preventing them from draining battery life. Not that battery life is much of an issue thanks to the 3630mAh juicer that powers the handset. Other new features allow a microSD card to act as additional internal storage as opposed to being used for portable storage. There are also other changes to app links and volume controls.

Once you have received notification that the update has arrived on your phone, before you start the downloading and installation process, make sure that you are connected to a Wi-Fi signal. Or, if there is no Wi-Fi in the are area, ascertain that the Verizon cellular signal is strong. Also, you should double check your battery to see if it is fully charged before you begin updating your DROID MAXX 2 to Android 6.0.
