Moto Z2 appears on GFXBench, full of flagship-type specs

Originally, rumors seemed to indicate that there would be no sequel to the thinnest smartphone on the market, the Moto Z. Instead, the speculation was that Motorola would offer just two Moto Z models this year, a high-end Moto Z2 Force and a low to mid-range Moto Z2 Play. But no sooner was the latter unveiled by Motorola, then the Moto Z2 appeared on Geekbench. Now that it is apparent that there will be a Moto Z2, the phone has made another appearance on a benchmark site. This time, GFXBench.

The specs listed on GFXBench for the Moto Z2 are certainly flagship worthy. We're talking about a 5.5-inch screen carrying a 1440 x 2560 resolution. The Snapdragon 835 SoC is under the hood, featuring an octa-core 2.4GHz CPU and the Adreno 540 GPU. 4GB of RAM is inside along with 64GB of native storage. While renders of the phone have shown a dual-camera setup on back, the GFXBench listing shows a single 12MP snapper gracing the back of the Moto Z2, with a 5MP front-facing selfie snapper.

Motorola is holding an event on June 30th, and perhaps we will see the Moto Z2 made official then. Don't forget to check in often for the latest on this phone.
