Moto X (2014) update issues are behind it, Motorola starts pushing out Android 5.1

"I am happy to announce that we have been approved to start full deployment of the Android 5.1 Lollipop upgrade for Moto X (2nd Gen) Pure Edition in the US." This posting of Motorola's David Schuster this morning should be music for every owner's ears, after the OTA update was promised earlier. Motorola ran into issues with the 5.1 update on the Moto X (2014), but, here we are, a few days later it has all been resolved.

The original Moto X already saw the goods, jumping directly from KitKat to Android 5.1, and now it is time for the second generation to soak the latest Android in.

This Android 5.1 Lollipop version will bring a number of new features and improvements, including new notification and drop-down menus in quick settings, plus a lot of improvements under the hood aiming at speed and stability.
