Motion activated apps now available in the Ovi Store
Nokia's Ovi Store has begun to see some motion activated applications that offer users an interactive approach to the way they run or play with the phone. These apps simply utilize the phone's camera to accomplish some automated actions – for example, eyeSight's new app called FartControl will automatically let out a sound from the handset without having to touch the phone. It simply will execute an action whenever the phone tracks some kind of motion that is seen by the camera – so you can just place the phone somewhere and you can start waving your hands or something else to allow the app to play the sound from a safe distance. In addition, there are other apps such as Fortune Cookies that allows you to “crush” a virtual delectable treat by just tapping your hand above the phone so it'll read you your fortune. There is also Ninja Strike that lets you throw Ninja Stars by executing a throwing motion and Truth or Dare that lets you spin a virtual bottle. As much as they can amuse people for a short period of time, we hope to see developers start to come up with some additional interesting concepts for this new line of apps.
