HTC's UK web site just recently posted a ROM update for O2's version of the HTC HD2 which should naturally fill owners with some enthusiasm knowing that the venerable Windows Mobile smartphone is still receiving some love. Those feelings will quickly subside once they take a quick gander at the ROM version and recall it to be extremely familiar. Apparently HTC released the same exact ROM version, 1.72.206.3, that was made available two months ago which erased all data on the handset when installed. We'd assume that the ROM update was posted again to inform owners out there who decided to bypass installing it back a couple months ago to go ahead and do it now. Whatever the case may be, it's here once again for the taking, but just expect a lengthy installation process that will be supplemented even more as you rebuild your handset from scratch.
