More leaked images of Microsoft's Project Pink Phones - targets April 20 release
There has been more light surrounding Microsoft's Project Pink phones today as Engadget received images of the two handsets in question – the Turtle and Pure. Aside from the fuzzy looking shots of the handsets, their reliable source has stated that the Sharp-made devices are going to launch exclusively with Verizon Wireless with a potential to be released by April 20. From all the news we've been hearing about Project Pink, the same source goes on to say that they will indeed be targeting the teens and twentysomethings demographics – which of course makes sense seeing that these follow the same path that the Sidekick handsets made over on T-Mobile. The one area that's still a bit fuzzy is the platform that's powering these two handsets – some still speculate it to be some kind of glorified feature phone that plays close to what's offered on the Windows Phone 7 Series platform. Whichever way it does go, Microsoft has its hands full at the moment and will really need to impress people out of the gates with these Project Pink phones. Finally, our friends over the big pond will eventually see the light of these two phones as it's being rumored that GSM variants will make its way to Vodafone.
