More dual cameras coming from the Huawei camp: honor V8 teased

As you may or may not know, honor split off from Huawei as a separate brand — one with an independent portfolio, but not a very different one, it seems. Just like Huawei's Mate and P series, the honors are usually metal-clad, premium-looking handsets, but generally more geared towards the midrange segment of the market. And the latest teaser to come from the sub-brand definitely reaffirms the notion that both companies are still pretty close.

Posted on honor's profile on social media Weibo, we now have a teaser about an upcoming handset, named V8. Not much is officially said about the handset, besides the obvious image showing a dual camera, just like the recently launchedHuawei P9 has, and the fact that it will be announced on May 10th.

As for what kind of hardware we are to expect – everything is possible currently. Honor smartphones have a history of using both Qualcomm's Snapdragon chipsets, as well as Huaweils home-baked Kirin systems-on-chip. They also usually sport a good amount of RAM, and if we were forced to wager, we'd say we expect 3 GB on the honor V8. The rumor mill claims that the dual camera module will, again, pack two 12 MP sensors, but they will not be Leica-made this time around.

That's all we have on the mystery V8 right now, but we are pretty sure the leaksters will be able to provide some more spoilers before the 10th of May comes about.
