Microsoft to announce the Surface 3 before the holidays, reportedly has a Surface Mini in the pipeline
Throughout the current year, we've been occasionally hearing that Microsoft is prepping a new Surface tablet, which will allegedly be revealed sometime this fall. The last representative of the Surface family (not the be mistaken with the higher-end Surface Pro one) is the 10.6” Surface 2, which got unveiled more than a year ago, in September 2013.
It is beginning to get a little long in the tooth now, so it comes to no surprise that various rumors and speculations tip Redmond to be secretly working on a Surface 3 that will bear Microsoft's banner across tabletland well through 2015. These might get announced sometime this month.
Moreover, the giant is also once again said to have a Surface Mini in the pipeline. Despite the multiple rumors that Microsoft won't be releasing a smaller version of its Surface slate as it didn't come with enough unique features, it looks like Redmond might be finally considering to take a smaller-sized munchkin on the market, which will compete with the likes of the smaller Android and iOS tablets out there. We've heard nothing about the specs of the rumored slates yet. The Surface Mini is said to arrive in limited quantities, mind you.
