Microsoft Lumia 550 render appears; entry-level model comes with front-facing flash
Render of the Lumia 550 is disseminated by Evan Blass
A tweet sent out by Evan Blass (of @evleaks fame) reveals a render of the Microsoft Lumia 550. It is not certain whether or not this handset will be part of the October 6th Gala taking place in New York City. At that event, we expect to see the Microsoft Lumia 950 and Microsoft Lumia 950 XL unveiled. Both of those models are high-end handsets. The Lumia 550 is an entry-level device.
We've shown you images of the Lumia 550 before, but the new render comes right out of the oven. The handset features a 4.7-inch AMOLED display, with resolution of 720 x 1280. That works out to a 312ppi pixel density. While unconfirmed, we do expect the Snapdragon 210 chipset to be under the hood, carrying a quad-core 1.1GHz CPU and the Adreno 304 GPU. 1GB of RAM is inside, along with 8GB of expandable internal storage.
A 5MP camera is found on back, and a 2MP front-facing shooter handles selfies and video chats. There is a flash for the selfie snapping camera. A 1905mAh juicer provides the power, and Windows 10 Mobile is pre-installed. The phone will sport on-screen keys, and does support 4G LTE connectivity. The unit will be offered in a Glossy White or Black polycarbonate.
Pricing for the Lumia 550 is unknown at the moment.
