Microsoft Lumia 435 confirmed by Brazilian agency
Last month, we told you that the Microsoft Lumia 435 had visited the FCC. We gave you some information about the specs, and even showed you a leaked photo of the device. Now comes word that the Lumia 435 has been certified by Brazil's Anatel, which is the country's equivalent to the FCC. With the FCC and Anatel both certifying the device, it shouldn't be too long before it is unveiled by Microsoft. Microsoft requested short-term confidentiality so that Anatel can't release any pictures of the device until January 30th. That also is a sign that the handset will soon be revealed.
With the sub 5xx model number, this is an entry-level handset. The Microsoft Lumia 435 carries a 4-inch screen with a resolution of 480 x 800. A Snapdragon 200 CPU powers the device, which features a 5MP rear-facing camera. A device-exclusive BV-5J battery keeps the lights on.
The Microsoft Lumia 435, which will carry a model number of RM-1068, supports dual SIM cards. The phone will offer 3G connectivity. When the phone was shipped into India for inter-company use in November, it was valued at $57 for each unit. If the Lumia 435 is launched at that price, it would be the cheapest Lumia model yet.
